Crops Grown
Grain is the Way to Go
Grain was most important crops. It was used for many foods including flour, bread, beer, and porridge. Even though grain is important, other crops were dying because they were not getting enough water at the approximate time.
What about the other plants?
The location of the plant was very valuable. This was because each plant needed a different amount of water. Crops were one of the most important parts of agriculture. This was because without crops there would be no food for the Mesopotamians. The lives of Mesopotamians were supported by the crops.
Irrigation Systems
Stopping the Floods
With an irrigation system built, the flooding of Mesopotamia was easier to control. Typical irrigation systems were built to stop floods from running the crops, and destroying everything in its path. They also controlled the amount of water the fields would receive.
How it Helped
The systems would also change the course of the flowing water, helping the soil not receive too much silt. Irrigation systems would help by controlling water that entered the fields; Mesopotamians successfully grew and distributed crops.
